pharmacy

We at Coulter Animal Hospital maintain a fully stocked in-house pharmacy complete with prescription diets, heartworm prevention, flea & tick prevention, and internal medicine drugs. We particularly order some medications from two compound pharmacies: Road Runner Pharmacies and Wedgewood Pharmacies.

Microchip Permanent Identification

Pet Microchip Permanent Identification

Many pets go missing and are taken to the local shelter or a veterinary clinic to check for a microchip. Microchipping your pet is a simple, easy way to help return your pet to your home. Microchips are tiny devices about the size and shape of a grain of rice. One microchip is implanted beneath the pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. Implanting a microchip in your pet is as easy and painless as a vaccination. There are several microchip companies, and each has its unique number. We use Home Again chips which are automatically registered to you at the time of microchip insertion. These unique microchip numbers and information about the owner and pet are added to a national pet registry. Most veterinarians and animal shelters have a reader device for detecting and reading these implanted microchips. If a lost pet is found and the microchip is scanned, the registry is called, and the pet’s owner is contacted. If you move or change your phone number, you must contact the company and change your information. Call 1 888 HOME AGAIN (1 888 466 3242).

boarding

Pet Boarding

We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours, Monday through Saturday. The indoor boarding area is climate controlled. The outdoor boarding area is not climate controlled. Therefore the temperature inside the 12’x12′ stall will be close to that outside. All canine boarders must be current on vaccinations and have proof of flea & tick prevention, or we will administer them upon check-in.
