Veterinarians
David Hodges, D.V.M.
Dr. David Hodges lived in Wellington, Texas, during high school. Dr. Hodges grew up with family pets, worked with livestock, and loved science, making veterinary medicine a natural choice for his vocation. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A& M University in 1978, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at Texas Tech University in 1975. While in high school, Dr. Hodges met his future wife, Jan, whom he married in 1977. They have three sons that graduated from Texas A& M; M. Preston, the oldest, graduated in 2008 with a TAMU Construction Science degree.

Rachel Kinser, D.V.M.
Dr. Rachel Kinser joined Coulter Animal Hospital in August 2015. Dr. Kinser was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, before moving to Oklahoma for college. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from OSU in 2013. Dr. Kinser worked in a rural mixed animal practice in Pond Creek, Oklahoma, for two years after graduating from veterinary school. Her husband, Shawn, is a veterinarian at Swann Animal Clinic on Hillside. They have two daughters, Avery and Madelyn. Dr. Kinser enjoys fishing, running, horseback riding, and watching football and baseball in her spare time. She has an Australian Shepherd named Zoey.

Odalis
Odalis joined Coulter Animal Hospital in January 2023. She was born in Hale Center, TX, but was adopted and grew up in Lubbock, TX. Odalis graduated from West Texas A&M in December 2022, with a bachelors degree in Animal Science. She plans to attend West Texas A&M for Graduate school and from there start her pathway to Veterinary school! In her spare time she enjoys working out, reading and spending time with my family, boyfriend and our puppy Alma. What Odalis has enjoyed most about Coulter Animal Hospital is being able to be in an environment that is willing to teach and have patience with new employees.
Dr. Hodges and Boone
Dr. David Hodges lived in Wellington, Texas, during high school. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A& M University in 1978, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at Texas Tech University in 1975. While in high school, Dr. Hodges met his future wife, Jan, whom he married in 1977. They have three sons that graduated from Texas A&M; M. Preston, the oldest, graduated in 2008 with a TAMU Construction Science degree. He also earned his healthcare engineering certifications post-college through the American Society for Healthcare Engineering. Currently, he is the Vice President for the Southern Region of McCarthy Building Companies in Houston, TX. Preston married Natalie Pappas on October 23, 2020, and are expecting the first Hodges grandson, Hayden, in August 2022. Twin sons, Austin and Patrick, graduated with TAMU Biomedical Science degrees in 2010 with a GPA of 4.0 and graduated number one and two in their class of 105 from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2014. They finished their third year of orthodontic residency at TAMU Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX, and moved back to Amarillo to practice orthodontics. They built a new orthodontic building, Hodges & Hodges Orthodontics, at 5212 Coulter Street, directly in front of Coulter Animal Hospital. Patrick is married to Kathryn, and they have two daughters named Kate, born May 17, 2019, and Hallie, born December 26, 2021. Austin married Lauren Britten on December 31, 2021. Lauren graduated from San Antonio Dental School in May 2022.
Dr. Hodges was an associate in a mixed practice in Anadarko, OK. in 1978-79, an equine practice in Canyon, TX. in 1979-1984, and built Coulter Animal Hospital in 1984. He enjoys snow skiing and gulf fishing and is an avid dove & quail hunter. He has a ranch in Aberdeen, Tx that he spends many weekends enjoying ranch life. His former favorite hunting companion, Boone, is with him in the picture above. In 2013, Dr. Hodges began two new sports. He started trying to play golf and plays on a team in the Amarillo Senior Softball Association. The Hodges family has five dogs.

Rachel Kinser, D.V.M.

ALICIA
Alicia has been at Coulter Animal Hospital since March 2008. Originally from Borger, TX, she has lived in Amarillo for the last 16 years. She and her husband, Greg, have a son, Gregory, and are now parents of twins, a boy, and a girl! Together they share their lives with four dogs: Magic, Mo-Mo, Hemi, and iPod, and three cats: Yuki, Splack, and Tito. Alicia earned her BS & MS in Biology from West Texas A&M. In her spare time, she enjoys doing boot camp workouts, running, and playing volleyball and golf.
LEO
Leo is originally from Mercedes, TX and came to Coulter Animal Hospital from an emergency hosital in McAllen, TX. Leo enjoys learning as a hands-on technician and loves being able to educate owners on preventative care and and encourages vaccinating all fur babies. Leo wishes to continue learning and excel at being a devoted team member of Coulter Animal Hospital.
ISABEL PENA
Isabel has been with Coulter Animal Hospital since November 2021. Originally from Dallas, Isabel moved to the panhandle to study Biology/Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in May of 2021 from West Texas A&M University and has plans to attend Veterinary School.
Her favorite part about Coulter Animal Hospital is that she is part of a dedicated and hardworking team. Isabel is a beautiful addition to our team. Her positive attitude, patience, and smile make our work environment much more significant. When she’s not working at the vet clinic, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, family, friends, and her boxer, Delilah.
AINSLEA PRICE
Ainslea has been with Coulter Animal Hospital since November 2020. She graduated with her Bachelor’s in Animal Science in May of 2022 and is now attending WT for her Masters’s in Animal Science and plans to pursue her Doctorate in Animal Science at OSU or Kansas State. Ainslea’s innovative mindset for the cattle industry is second to none, and she shows her passion for animal science every day at our clinic. Her goal is to study genetics with a focus on carcass merit traits of beef cattle breeds.
Her favorite part about Coulter Animal Hospital are the friendships she has built. Ainslea is a team player and always goes the extra mile to make sure her tasks are complete and patients are well cared for.
In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her friends, boyfriend, and dogs. Together, her and her boyfriend have an Alaskan Malamute and a Catahoula mix.
BONNIE TOMPKINS
Bonnie joined Coulter Animal Hospital in April 2020. She is originally from Plano and will graduate from West Texas A&M University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science. She will be attending Kansas State University in the fall, where she will be obtaining her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
Bonnie’s favorite thing about Coulter Animal Hospital is the opportunity to learn something new every day. Before she was a veterinary technician, Bonnie was one of our kennel technicians. She is one of the best kennel technicians we have had. Her attention to detail, hard work, and animal care promoted her. Those values will carry her far beyond this clinic into her future career. When she’s not excelling in the clinic or making straight A’s in the classroom, Bonnie enjoys playing volleyball with friends and being outdoors. She is a proud “dog mom” to a rambunctious Husky named Carl.

Arianna
Arianna has been with Coulter Animal Hospital since January 2024. She graduated with her Bachelors in Animal Science in May of 2022 at Texas A&M University – Kingsville with plans to pursue her Master’s degree. Arianna is from Linn – San Manuel, TX and plans on applying to veterinary school in the future.
Arianna’s favorite part of Coulter Animal Hospital is working with a well-rounded and supportive team who welcomed her with open arms.
In her free time, Arianna enjoys spending time with her sister, watching movies and TV shows, and reading.

NINA COVARRUBIA
Nina has been with Coulter Animal Hospital since September 2018 and has recently been named the Practice Manager. She was raised in Hereford and moved to Amarillo in 2019. Nina will be attending WT in the Fall to attend sign language classes, which has always been her lifelong goal. In her spare time, Nina enjoys spending time with her spouse, taking trips together, and making memories with family. She also loves to spend time with her two dachshunds, Barnaby and Willard and cat, Maggot. Her favorite part of Coulter Animal Hospital is working alongside some of the best people she will ever encounter.
CAYLA LORD
ROSIE WRIGHT
Rosie has been with Coulter Animal Hospital since January 2022. She is a student at Amarillo College, where she is studying biology. Her plans include graduating from a four-year university and having strong aspirations to attend vet school.
Rosie is an excellent addition to the Coulter team. She has a ton of hands-on experience in animal handling and caretaking. Her favorite part about Coulter Animal Hospital is getting to experience several types of animals and learning the ins and outs of surgical procedures.
JOSHUA CABELLO
Joshua joined Coulter Animal Hospital in July 2019. Joshua was raised in Amarillo, Texas, and graduated from Caprock High school. He will attend Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine in Fall of 2022. His favorite shows are The Office, Umbrella Academy, and The Walking Dead. Joshua enjoys hanging out with his girlfriend, running, and up-keeping his aquariums in his free time. He has a Yorkie and an American Bulldog, a cat, a turtle, a pet hedgehog, and of course, all the fish!
ZAIRA FLORES
Zaira was born and raised in Mexico, which is why she is one of our fluent Spanish-speaking technicians! She moved to Perryton when she was 10. She obtained her biology associate’s degree in Perryton, where her love for teaching started! Shortly after, she became a vet tech for a mixed practice veterinarian until the late summer of 2020, when she moved to Amarillo and became a part of our team! Zaira compared the transition from her previous job to CAH to learning English again since we use a different system for small animals! Although the change was hard, Zaira enjoys learning something new every day! She also enjoys drawing blood, placing IV catheters, and participating in orthopedic surgery alongside Dr. Hodges. Zaira’s plans include settling down with her very kind and loving husband and starting a family. She also plans to go back to college and obtain a Bachelor’s degree!
ARIEL HERRERA
Ariel has been with Coulter Animal Hospital since March 2021. Born and raised in Amarillo, TX she will graduate from West Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Biology in December 2022. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, especially her niece and nephew, reading, going to the gym, and hanging out with friends. She has three dogs, Gizmo, a chihuahua; Mollie, a bloodhound; and Star, a chow. Her favorite thing about CAH is our fantastic team!
SARIAH WILLIAMS
Sariah was born and raised in Amarillo, TX. Throughout her childhood and High school years, her love for animals grew into a passion for veterinary medicine. She is currently working on her undergrad at West Texas A&M University, majoring in Biology. Her future aspirations are to attend vet school and one day become a veterinarian or professor. She loves to visit church events and take pictures of nature in her free time. Her favorite part of working at Coulter Animal Hospital is the daily opportunity for growth.
AUTUMN HAMPTON
Autumn has been with Coulter Animal Hospital since June 2021. She was born and raised here in Amarillo, TX, where she attended Caprock High School. She recently graduated from West Texas A&M University, where she received her Bachelor’s in Animal Science with plans to attend veterinary school. Autumn’s favorite part about CAH is the opportunity to learn something new every day while making lifetime relationships. In her free time, Autumn enjoys hanging out with friends, fishing, and playing with her dogs, Millie and Beau!
CAROL
Carol has been at Coulter Animal Hospital since May 2009 but has been grooming for 25+ years. Before joining our family, she owned two grooming salons, U Dirty Dogs and Doggie Doos. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her grandkids, Kwintyn and Brynleigh. She also loves her four furbabies: 2 German Shepherds, Rylee and Kiah, a Pomeranian/Chihuahua named Roxy, and a black cat named Onyx.
ANGELA HERNANDEZ
Angela joined Coulter Animal Hospital in early June of 2022; she was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, and strives to become a Veterinarian. She plans to go to Amarillo College and move on to West Texas A&M once she graduates. She is one of our fluent Spanish-speaking technicians since she comes from a Mexican background. Angela loves to travel and visit new places; she hopes to see as many cities as possible. She goes to the gym or spends quality time with her pets in her free time. Her favorite part about the job is the opportunity to gain experience and open new doors, and working with cute dogs is a plus too!

EMILCE
An email has been a kennel technician at Coulter Animal Hospital since June 2022. She was born and raised in Amarillo, TX. After successfully graduating from Palo Duro High School this coming May, she plans to attend WTAMU in order to attain a Pre-Veterinary Degree. Her ultimate goal is to attend Texas A&M University for veterinary school, so in turn, she can work as a traveling veterinarian for natural disasters. In her spare time, she dances as a Diamond for Palo Duro HS and loves her Chihuahua, Max.
TALICIA
Talicia is originally from Dallas, TX. She graduated from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She plans to attend veterinary school and study small animals. Outside of work, she has two cats with whom she loves spending time. She enjoys going to the gym. She loves to be adventurous by exploring new places and meeting new people in her free time.
